Our Ministries

New Members
The New Member Team serves as a ministry link to connect God's people back to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We also strive to connect newcomers to The Kingdom of God and to the Nazarene Baptist Church Family. This department points every member to their next steps. (Orientation, Baptism and Baby Dedication) Now that you are here, we invite you to connect with the family! Our goal is to not only help you understand who we are and what we believe but also to fully understand who you are and why God made you uniquely you.

Baptism — Baptism is a Christian ordinance that symbolizes the death of the old nature of sin (our carnal selves) and a resurrection to a new life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:3-8). It also symbolizes the cleansing power of His blood and an out-ward testimony of our faith in the Lord Jesus.

Baptismal services are held on the third (3rd) Sunday (Feb, April, June, October, December) at 9:15 AM in the Lower Sanctuary. All participants are asked to meet by 8:45am for instructions. The date is subject to change due to calendar events.

-    Your request must be received by the 1st week of the month for consideration.
-   On Baptism, all participants will be escorted to change and prepare by our Deacons and Member Connection Team. Other family members are asked to be seated in Lower sanctuary in reserved section. (see usher)

Baby Dedication — Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which parents and families make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God's will, and to raise that child according to God's Word and God's ways.

Baby blessings are a joyous occasion. If you are a new Christian, we are delighted to be a part of this important step in your newly found walk with Jesus. Our intent is to come alongside of you and help ensure that the baby blessing is an easy going process. We pray that your child's blessing is significant and rewarding to you and your family.
Baby Dedication services are held on the third (3rd ) Sunday at 11:00 AM in the Main Sanctuary, except for the month of December.  All participants (parents & baby) are asked to meet by 10:30 AM for instructions.

The date is subject to change due to calendar events. The age limit (max) is 18 months for children being dedicated.

Bereavement

The loss of a loved one can hurt deeply. The mission of the Bereavement Ministry is to provide spiritual support and comfort to individuals and their relatives who experience the death of a loved one. We strive to comfort and encourage those who are confined to their homes, hospitals and other health-care facilities due to illness or other medical conditions. And should your family suffer a death, we stand ready to serve and assist.
"Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted"(Matthew 5:4)
"Anguish"..."numbness"..."heartache"..."anger" are just some of the responses we have when we hear about the death of someone close to us. The word homegoing symbolizes the connection that Christians have with our Heavenly Father. When we die as a son or daughter of God, we return home to our Father. Thus the term homegoing is substituted for the word funeral.

"Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am." (John 14:1-3, New Living Translation)
We can never be truly prepared to lose a loved one. The Bereavement Ministry is in place to help you with your initial reactions to as well as planning and preparation for the death; serving you during the homegoing; and providing spiritual support afterward. We have a team in place to provide compassionate care with sensitivity and grace.

Hard of Hearing or Deaf:

Our Deaf Ministry makes the worship experience meaningful for the deaf and hard of hearing. Using American Sign Language, interpretation is available during services and special events.

When you arrive, please ask an usher to direct you to the interpretation section.
