Biographical Sketch of Pastor Elmore Torbert, Jr.

Elmore Torbert, Jr. is the pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tullahoma, TN.  With a passionate heart for God and His People, this man of God is consistent in the study and appreciation of the Word of God.  He has been in ministry for almost 20 years and has preached numerous life changing sermons.  He has a unique passion for married couples.  He also works with many preachers on Biblical Mechanics and sermon preparation (hearing the voice of God). 

Elmore Torbert, Jr. was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. After graduating from Beecher High School, he began his undergraduate career at Alabama State University and later continued at American Baptist College in Nashville, TN in 1997 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Education and Sociology.  He enrolled at the University of Phoenix where he studied towards a Masters of Arts in Organizational Management.  He is currently enrolled at the American Baptist College where he is studying to pursue a Masters degree in Pastoral Care & Counseling. 

Pastor Elmore Torbert, Jr. has maintained leadership in many capacities.  He served at American Baptist College in the Student Government Association. He is currently serving as the Moderator of the Elk River District Association in Southern Middle Tennessee.  He was appointed to serve as the Assistant Vice-President and Associate Dean of the Middle Region for the Tennessee Baptist Missionary and Education Convention (TBM&E).  He is also serving as Chaplain for the Omega Lambda Lambda chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, INC, which he is a financial active member.

Upon earning his degree, Pastor Elmore Torbert, Jr. married Dr. Tracey Ayanna Miller and through this union came two beautiful children.  Aaron Reginald, 14 and Sheena Alaine, 13.  After being together for eight years and 19 days, on July 2, 2006 God called Tracey home.  This was a major turning point in Elmore's life and forced him to build an even stronger relationship with God.  Because of that relationship, he and his children have been more than conquerors and are living testimonies to God's healing power.
